The proposal of this project was to share information and data among the police laboratories to improve their methods and join efforts between laboratories building an international platform for explosives data exCHANGE (ExCHANGE). In this way, a method for the rapid identification of suspicious substances or devices could be used to contribute to the criminal justice system, encouraging the exchange of technical expertise and analytical data on explosives and their precursors, as well as fostering cooperation between laboratories and qualified institutions through a secure, limited-access database to contribute in increasing security among European citizens. In this way, contributed to exchange of technical, analytical knowledge and forensic data within a collaborative academic environment that works towards objectives by creating synergies between laboratories and security institutions, as a fundamental step in the police criminal investigation and in the legal prosecution of suspected criminal acts.
